Hot tubs leak heat energy. Hot tubs that are maintained at 'ready' temperatures continuously maintain a high rate of heat loss over the entire day. This heat loss can be significantly reduced if the hot tub is heated only in the time needed to raise the temperature before use (typically 1 hour before use) and during the use time itself.
